Key Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Assessment and Care: LPNs assess patients' needs, monitor vital signs, and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
  • Medication Administration: They administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosages and timing, and documenting any adverse reactions.
  • Basic Patient Care: This includes assisting with bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation, as well as providing wound care and changing bandages.
  • Documentation: LPNs accurately record patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant information in patient records. 
  • Patient Education: They provide basic education and instructions to patients and their families regarding care plans and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: LPNs collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, registered nurses, and other support staff, to provide coordinated care.
