Key Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): This involves helping patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
  • Monitoring Vital Signs: Measuring and recording vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and reporting any changes to the nursing staff. 
  • Providing Patient Comfort: Offering emotional support, assistance with mobility (transfers between beds, wheelchairs, etc.), and creating a comfortable environment.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensuring patient rooms are clean, tidy, and free of clutter, as well as maintaining the hygiene and safety of the patient.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records of patient care activities, including vital signs, ADL assistance, and any observed changes in patient condition. 
  • Reporting: Communicating any changes in patient condition, concerns, or problems to the nursing staff.
  • Following Policies and Procedures: Adhering to facility policies, infection control protocols, and other guidelines.
  • Assisting with Other Tasks: Depending on the facility and specific needs, CNAs may be asked to perform other tasks, such as delivering meals, stocking supplies, or assisting with patient transportation.
